Let us take an example and check: 3 + 5 = 8, this is divisible by 4
9 + 11 = 20, this is also divisible by 4. Adding two odd numbers gives an even number and this even number is always divisible by 4. Let us take a general number and check:
Taking 2 odd numbers,
2k + 1 and 2k + 3, where k can be any integer.
Add the numbers gives,
2k + 1 + 2k + 3 = 4k + 4
= 4k + 4 = 4 (k + 1)[Distributive property]
