Open in App
Solution

To simplify: 2(a+1)3-3(a-1)5

Convert the given algebraic fractions into like fractions by obtaining L.C.M of their denominators, we get

L.C.M of 3and 5=15

2(a+1)3=2(a+1)×53×5=10(a+1)15=10a+1015

3(a-1)5=3(a-1)×35×3=9(a-1)15=9a-915

2(a+1)3-3(a-1)5 =10a+1015-9a-915

=10a+10-9a+915

=a+1915

Thus, 2(a+1)3-3(a-1)5=a+1915 is the required simplified form.
