Solution

(1) − 28 × 1
= −28 (a × 1 = a)

(2) 4 + 0
= 4 (a + 0 = a)

(3) 0 × (−10)
= 0 (a × 0 = 0)

(4) (−5) − 0
= −5 (a − 0 = a)

(5) 13 − (−3)
We know that subtracting one number from another number is same as adding the first number to the negative of the second number.
∴ 13 − (−3) = 13 + 3 = 16

(6) 29 + 99 + 1
= 29 + (99 + 1) (a + b + c = a + (b + c))
= 29 + 100
= 129

(7) 593 × 25 × 4
= 593 × (25 × 4) (a × b × c = a × (b × c))
= 593 × 100
= 59300

(8) 95 + 741 + 5
= (95 + 5) + 741 (a + b + c = (a + c) + b)
= 100 + 741
= 841

(9) 5 × 379 × 2
= (5 × 2) × 379 (a × b × c = (a × c) × b)
= 10 × 379
= 3790

(10) 87 × 95 + 87 × 5
= 87 × (95 + 5) (a × b + a × c = a × (b + c))
= 87 × 100
= 8700
