Solution

1) oxidation is the gain of oxygen or loss of hydrogen.in the case of ions an element lose electrons in a chemical reaction and carry positive charge.

2) reduction is the loss of oxgen or gain of hydrogen .in case of ions element gain electrons in a chemical reaction and carry negative charge.

3) The rate of chemical reaction defined as the change in concentration of a reaction or product in unit time.It can be expressed in terms of:-

1-the rate of decrease in concentration of any one of the reactants,

2-the rate of increase in concentration of any of the products.

4)Factors affecting rate of chemical reaction are:
1) Concentration of the reacting species.
2) Temperature of the system.
3) Nature of the reactant and products.
4) Presence of catalyst.
5) Surface area.
6) Exposure to radiations.
