But Sir/Madam...Since in the question they have mentioned unexceptionally how can Reproduction be answer because it has exception like sterile couple, worker bees, mule etc. Whereas why it can't be Responsiveness to touch or consciousness as non living things don't response to the stimulus and also it is a defining feature of living oraganism

Only living organisms have the ability to reproduce(produce organisms of their own kind). Even though all other options are seen in living organisms, reproduction is the most fundamental thing. Living organisms do evolve and interact with environment but it is only because reproduction is taking place in every organisms.

In case of sterile couple and worker bees etc. they are born by reproduction, we dont need to consider if they can reproduce or not. They were formed by reproduction.

Reproduction is the criteria needed for each species generation and they are not affected by a mere sterile ones. So we can say unexceptionally they stand out from the rest of the options.
