Sir,

Please give the solution that ( 1) find a rational number between -2\3 and 1/4

(2) Find the three rational numbers between -2 and 5

Solution

1) first step is to make the denominator same
so multiply numerator and denominator by a number
-2/3=-2/3*4/4=-8/12
1/4=1/4*3/3=3/12

we took 3/3 and 4/4 because the LCM of 3 and 4 ( denomenators ) is 12
now we can take any number betwwen the two i.e -8/12 and 3/12
so a rational number between -2/3 and 1/4 is 1/12

2) between -2 and 5
the number line goes like this

...........-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4,5........
so between -2 and 5 choose any number betwwen them

here I takes 0,1,and 2
