Situation: A ball is moving down a slope with a steady speed. If it is moving with steady speed then the forces acting on the ball are balanced.
Question: Now if the force is balanced then there should be no net movement by the ball then why the ball is moving?

Solution

According to the first law of newton, if the net force acting on any object is zero, then two conditions will be risen.
1. The object will be at a steady state
2. The object will move at a constant speed.
Here the 2nd condition will be occurred. That's why for being net force zero or the forces acting on that object are in balanced conditions the object moving at a constant speed.
