Explain the role of supervision as an element of directing function of management.

Supervision involves face to face contact between the superior and his subordinates. The objective of supervision is to ensure that subordinates work efficiently, hardly and effectively to finish the works given to them. Supervision is used in management as overseeing workers at work as to know they are working in the desired manner. The person who supervises the employees is called supervisor. Functions of a supervisor:

1. Issuing orders and instructions
2. Motivating workers
