The environment where smoke is present is not good for health. It causes air pollution and affects all the living beings.
Harmful effects of coal burning:
(1) Generation of waste products that contain mercury, uranium, thorium, arsenic and other heavy metals which are harmful to health and environment.
(2) Sulphur particles present in the coal will cause acid rain.
(3) Interference with groundwater and water table levels.
(4) Contamination of land and waterways.
(5) Dust nuisance
(6) The release of CO22, a greenhouse gas, which causes climate change and global warming.
