Solution

The correct options are
A Lung cancer
B Emphysema
D Coronary heart disease
Smoking is known to cause lung cancer. Lung cancer is characterized by uncontrolled cell growth in tissues of the lung.
Emphysema which is also caused due to smoking, is a long-term, progressive disease of the lungs that primarily causes shortness of breath. In emphysema, the inner walls of the air sacs weaken and eventually rupture creating one larger air space instead of many small ones. This reduces the surface area of the lungs and, in turn, the amount of oxygen that reaches the bloodstream.
Coronary heart disease is a disease in which a waxy substance called plaque builds up inside the coronary arteries. These arteries normally, supply oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle. The chemicals in tobacco smoke harm the blood cells as plaques build up in the blood vessels. The platelets, components in the blood, stick together along with proteins to form clots which can then get stuck in the plaque in the walls of arteries and cause heart attacks.
