$S n {C l}_{2}$ is strong reducing agent and reduces $H g {C l}_{2}$ to ${H g}_{2} {C l}_{2}$ (white) which is further reduced to $H g$ (grey).
The reactions are as follows:
$S n {C l}_{2} + H g {C l}_{2} ⟶ S n {C l}_{4} + {H g}_{2} {C l}_{2}$
$S n {C l}_{2} + {H g}_{2} {C l}_{2} ⟶ S n {C l}_{4} + 2 H g$
