Solution

The correct option is A True

Solubility

The maximum amount of solute that can be dissolved in a given amount of solvent at a particular temperature is called solubility.

solubility is affected by certain factors.

  1. Nature of solute: Different solute particles have different solubilities.
  2. Nature of solvent: Solubility of solute in a different solvent varies.
  3. Pressure: The effect of pressure on the solubility of the solid solute in a liquid solvent is very low.
  4. Temperature
  • Solubility of solid in liquid type solution (example: sugar in water) increases with an increase in temperature since the solvent molecules get the energy to break the solute particles and make them dissolve faster.
  • But for certain substances like compounds of calcium when dissolved in water, solubility decreases with an increase in temperature because these type of compounds releases heat when dissolved in a solvent.
  • In substances that absorb heat while dissolving in water, solubility increases with an increase in temperature.

Therefore, the given statement is true, i.e, the solubility of salts in water generally increases with rising in temperature but in some cases, it decreases.
