The correct option is C $x = - 10$
Given, $10 (2 + x) = 5 (x - 6)$
or, $20 + 10 x = 5 x - 30$
Transposing 5x to LHS, we get
$20 + 10 x - 5 x = - 30$
Transposing 20 to RHS, we get
$5 x = - 30 - 20$
or $5 x = - 50$
Dividing both sides by 5, we get
$\frac{5 x}{5} = \frac{- 50}{5}$ or $x = - 10$
