Given, $3 (x + 2) - 2 (x - 1) = 7$
$\Rightarrow 3 x + 6 - 2 x + 2 = 7$
$\Rightarrow x + 8 = 7$
Subtract $8$ on both sides,
$x + 8 - 8 = 7 - 8$
$\Rightarrow x = - 1$
