$6 x^{2} + 17 x + 12 = 0$
$\Rightarrow$ $6 x^{2} + 9 x + 8 x + 12 = 0$
$\Rightarrow$ $3 x (2 x + 3) + 4 (2 x + 3) = 0$
$\Rightarrow$ $(2 x + 3) (3 x + 4) = 0$
$\Rightarrow$ $2 x + 3 = 0$ and $3 x + 4 = 0$
$∴$ $x = \frac{- 3}{2}$ and $x = \frac{- 4}{3}$
