$\frac{3}{5} + 2 x = 9$

$\Rightarrow 2 x = 9 - \frac{3}{5} = \frac{45 - 3}{5} = \frac{42}{5}$

$\Rightarrow x = \frac{42}{2 \times 5} = \frac{21}{5}$

$∴ x = \frac{21}{5}$
