Solve each of the following equations and check your answers:
13-2x=0

13 - 2x = 0
Subtracting 13 from both sides, we get
13 - 2x - 13 = 0 -13
-2x = -13
Multiplying both sides by -1, we get
-2x × (-1) = -13 ×(-1)
⇒ 2x = 13
Dividing both sides by 2, we get
2x2 = 13×2
⇒ x = 16
Verification:
Substituting x = 16 in LHS, we get
LHS = 13 - 2 × 16 = 13- 13 = 0, and RHS = 0
LHS = RHS
Hence, verified
