12 $x^{2}$ + 36 $a^{2}$ = 43ax

Rearranging the terms, we get

12 $x^{2}$ - 43ax + 36a² = 0

12 $x^{2}$ - 16ax – 27ax + 36 $a^{2}$ = 0

4x(3x – 4a) - 9a(3x – 4a) = 0

(4x – 9a)(3x – 4a) = 0

$∴$ x = 4a/3 or x = 9a/4
