Solve for x if 4(2x+3)2(2x+3)14=0.

Open in App
Solution

Given: 4(2x+3)2(2x+3)14=0
Substitute (2x+3)=y, Hence the given equation reduces to
4y2y14=0
4y28y+7y14=0
4y(y2)+7(y2)=0
(4y+7)(y2)=0
y=74 or y=2
When y=74,
(2x+3)=74
2x=194
x=198
When y=2,
(2x+3)=2
2x=1
x=12
