The correct option is C $x = - 1, y = 2$
$3 x + y + 1 = 0$
$⟹ y = - 1 - 3 x$
Let, $x = - 1$ , then $y = - 1 - 3 (- 1) = 2$
Similarly, when $x = 1, y = - 4$
And,
$2 x - 3 y + 8 = 0$
$⟹ x = \frac{3 y - 8}{2}$
Let, $y = 2,$ then $x = \frac{3 (2) - 8}{2} = - 1$
Similarly, when $y = 0, x = - 4$
Plotting the above points on the graph, we get, the intersecting point at $(- 1, 2)$
$∴ x = - 1, y = 2$
