Here,the given equation is :-

On solving it :-
$a - 2 \frac{3}{5 = - 4 \frac{1}{2}} a = - 4 \frac{1}{2 + 2 \frac{3}{5}} a = - \frac{9}{2 + \frac{13}{5}} a = - 6 / 15$
Hence, the value is $- 6 / 15$
