$102 \times 106$
$= (100 + 2) \times (100 + 6)$
We know that $(x + a) (x + b) = x^{2} + (a + b) x + a b$
where $x = 100, a = 2, b = 6$
$∴ 102 \times 106$
$= (100 + 2) \times (100 + 6)$
$= 100^{2} + (2 + 6) 100 + 2 \times 6$
$= 10000 + 800 + 12 = 10, 812$
