By definition, xy and xy are both + ive and
hence they can be written as |xy|andxy
Thus we have the following equations.
|xy|=|x||y|=25............(1)
xy=|x||y|=12................(2)
Multiplying,|x|2=|2|4=16
|x|=4 only, as mod is +ive
x=±4y=±8
x=4,y=8orx=4y=8only
as both xy and (xy) have to be + ive .
