(a).The said chemical compound is bleaching powder, chemically known as calcium oxychloride. It is represented by the chemical formula CaOCl2. It is produced by the action of chlorine on dry slaked lime.
(b). Following is the chemical equation for the reaction

Ca(OH)2 + Cl2 → CaOCl2 + H2O

(c).Bleaching powder is used for bleaching cotton and linen in the textile industry, wood pulp in paper factories and washed clothes in laundries.
