Question

Solve the differential equation x dy=y dx+x2+y2dx

Open in App
Solution

Re-arranging the differential equation gives us
dydx=yx+y2+x2x
dydx=yx+y2+x2x2
Let y=vx, then dydx=v+xdvdx
Hence
v+xdvdx=v+1+v2
xdvdx=1+v2
dv1+v2=dxx
ln(v+1+v2)=lnx+C
Or
ln(y+x2+y2)lnx=lnx+c
ln(y+x2+y2)=2lnx+c
