The correct option is D $- \frac{7}{4}$
Given, $- 1 [7 x + 6 - 7 (x + 1)] = - 4 x - 6$
$\Rightarrow - 1 [7 x + 6 - 7 x - 7] = - 4 x - 6$ ...[By Distrinbution Law]
$\Rightarrow - 1 [- 1] = - 4 x - 6$ ...[On Simplifying]
$\Rightarrow 1 = - 4 x - 6$
