Solve the equation $5 (x + 4) + 8 = 68$ and cheak the result.

$5 (x + 4) + 8 = 68 - - - - (1)$
$5 x + 20 + 8 = 68$
$5 x = 68 - 28 = 40$
$[x = 8]$
now using x = 8 in equation (1)
$5 (12) + 8 = 68$
$68 = 68$
