We have : 17(2x)5(x+12)17x=8

Multiplying both sides of the above equation (17x), we have :

17(2x)5(x+12)17x(17x)=8(17x)

17(2x)5(x+12)=8(17x)

3417x5x60=856x

22x26=856x

22x+56x=8+26 (Transposing 56x and 26)

34x=34

34x34=3434 (Dividing by 34 both sides)

x=3434

x=1

Thus, x=1 is the solution of the given equation.
