Given equation is:
$3 y^{2} + 8 y + 5 = 0$
Applying quadratic formula,
$y = \frac{- b \pm \sqrt{b^{2} - 4 a c}}{2 a}$

$y = \frac{- 8 \pm \sqrt{64 - 4 (5) (3)}}{2 \times 3}$
