If we subtract the same quantity from both sides of the equation, the equality remains unchanged ,i.e, if $x=a$, then $x-m=a-m$.

We have the equation $x+4=6$

$\Rightarrow x+4=6$

$\Rightarrow x+4-4=6-4$ [Subtracting $4$ from both sides of the equation ]

$\Rightarrow x=2$

$\therefore$ $x=2$ is the solution of the equation

Hence the solution of the equation $x+4=6$ is $x=2$
