Solution

Consider the equation

$2 x - 3 y = 9$ ---- $(i)$
$4 x + 6 y = 18$ ---- $(i i)$

$(2 x - 3 y = 9) \times 2 = 4 x - 6 y = 18$ ---- $(i i i)$
adding (ii) and (iii) we get
$x = \frac{9}{2} a n d y = 0$
