Solve the equations:

(4) 3 (x − 4) = 13 − 3x

3 (x − 4) = 13 − 3x
or 3x − 12 = 13 − 3x (Expanding the brackets)
On adding 3x to both sides, we obtain:
3x − 12 + 3x = 13 − 3x + 3x
or 6x − 12 = 13
On adding 12 to both sides, we obtain:
6x − 12 + 12 = 13 + 12
or 6x = 25
On dividing both the sides by 6, we obtain:
6x6=256x=256
