7a + 2 = 26 + 3a
Subtracting 3a from both sides, we obtain:
7a + 2 – 3a = 26 + 3a – 3a
$\Rightarrow$ 4a + 2 = 26
Subtracting 2 from both sides, we obtain:
$\Rightarrow$ 4a + 2 – 2 = 26 – 2
$\Rightarrow$ 4a = 24
Dividing both sides by 4, we obtain:
$\frac{4 a}{4} = \frac{24}{4} \Rightarrow a = 6$
