Find the value of $x$

Given : $\frac{0.2x+5}{3.5x–3}=\frac{2}{5}$

On cross multiplication, we get

$$\begin{gathered} 5\times (0.2x+5)=2\times (3.5x–3) \\ \Rightarrow x+25=7x–6 \end{gathered}$$

$$\begin{gathered} \Rightarrow 7x–x=25+6[\mathrm{Combining}\mathrm{like}\mathrm{terms}] \\ \Rightarrow 6x=31 \\ \Rightarrow x=\frac{31}{6} \end{gathered}$$

The value of x for equation $\frac{0.2x+5}{3.5x–3}=\frac{2}{5}$ is $x=\frac{31}{6}$.
