$8 x^{2} - 22 x - 21 = 0$
$8 x^{2} - 28 x + 6 x - 21 = 0$
$4 x (2 x - 7) + 3 (2 x - 7) = 0$
$(4 x + 3) (2 x - 7) = 0$
$4 x - 13 = 0$ or $2 x - 7 = 0$
$4 x = - 3$ or $2 x = 7$
$x = - 3 / 4$ $x = 7 / 2$
