Solve the following by elimination method:
2x+y=6 and x2y=2

Given, equations are
2x+y=6 ....(1)
and x2y=2 .....(2)
Multiply 2 with equation (1), we get
4x+2y=12 ....(3)
Add equations (2) and 3,
5x=10
x=2
Now, put this value in equation (1),
2(2)+y=6
4+y=6
y=2
Therefore, the solution is x=2,y=2.
