Given $4 a + 3 = 5 a - 4$ --------(1)
$⟹ 4 a - 5 a = - 3 - 4$
$⟹ - a = - 7$
$⟹ a = 7$
On putting the value of $a$ in the equation (1)
$L.H.S = 4 \times 7 + 3 = 31$
$R.H.S = 5 \times 7 - 4 = 31$
$⟹ L.H.S = R.H.S$
