The correct option is A $x = 1, y = - 4$
$2 x + y = - 2; 3 x - y = 7$
$y = - 2 x - 2$
Put it in second equation.
$3 x - (- 2 x - 2) = 7$
$5 x + 2 = 7$
$x = 1$
$y = - 2 x - 2 = - 2 (1) - 2 = - 4$
$x = 1$ and $y = - 4$
