Question

Solve the following Linear equations

x\2 _ 1\5 = x\3 +1\4

Open in App
Solution

each step is simple and clear
i think you have doubt in substracting terms
for substraction of fractions we take LCM of denomintaors
LCM of 2 and 3 is 2*3=6 since both are prime numbers
so
(x/2)-(x/3)
=((x*3)/(2*3))-((x*2)/(3*2)) ;multplying 3 and 2 on numerator and denominator does not make any change for respective fractions
=(3x/6)-(2x/6)
=(3x-2x)/6
=x/6 ; we can subsarct since denominaors are same
follow same steps on right side
