Solve the following pair of linear equations in two variables:
𝟑𝒙 + 𝒚 = 𝟐; 𝒙 − 𝒚= 2
a) x = -1, y = 1
b)x = 1, y = -1

3x + y = 2
x - y = 2
Add both the equations,
4x = 4
⇒ x = 1
Substituting x = 1,
(1) - y = 2
⇒ y = -1
hence correct option is(b)
