Solve the following pairs of linear (simultaneous) equations using method of elimination by substitution:

2x3y+6=0

2x+3y18=0

2x-3y=-6. (1)
2x+3y=18. (2)

(1) + (2)

2x-3y+2x+3y=-6+18

4x. =12

x = 3

Substituting x=3 in equation 2

We get

6+3y=18

3y=18-6

y=4
