Solution

Given, that the length of a rectangle is 8cm more than twice its breadth, and the perimeter rectangle is 76cm

Let the breadth of the given rectangle is xcm

So, the length of a rectangle is (2x+8)cm.

According to the given condition,

Perimeterofrectangle=2(Length+Breadth)

76=2(2x+8)+x76=2(2x+8+x)76=2(3x+8)2×3x+2×8=76[Distributiveproperty]6x+16=766x=76-166x=60x=606x=10cm

So, the length of a rectangle

=(2x+8)=2×10+8=20+8=28cm.

Hence, the length and breadth of the given rectangle are 10cmand28cmrespectively.
