The length of a rectangle is three times its breadth. If the perimeter is 88cm, find the length and breadth.

Finding the length and breadth of the rectangle.

Given: The length of a rectangle is three times its breadth and the perimeter =88cm

Let the breadth of the given rectangle be x cm.

Length of the rectangle is 3x cm.

We know that the perimeter of rectangle =2(Length+breadth)

88=2(3x+x)2(3x+x)=882(4x)=888x=888x8=888x=11

So, length of the rectangle =3x=3×11=33cm

Hence, the length and breadth of the given rectangle are 33and11 respectively.
