Let us take the unknown number as A

Forming a mathematical equation step by step from the riddle, we get:

A third of me=A÷3=A3

Half of me=A÷2=A2

Sixth more than four=4+16 =416 =(6×4)+16 =256

The line "A third of me times halfof me is a sixth more than four" can be expressed as:

A3×A2=256

A×A3×2=256

A×A=25

But, 5×5=25

A=5

Hence, the multiplication equation can be written as:

53×52=256

The corresponding division equationwill be:

256÷52=53 OR 256÷53=52
