Solve the following sets of simultaneous equations.
3x5y=16;x3y=8

Given
x3y=8
x=8+3y.......(1)
3x5y=16
substitute value of x from (1) in the above equation, we get
3(8+3y)5y=16
24+9y5y=16
9y5y=1624
4y=8
y=84
y=2
Putting value of y in (1) ,we get
x=8+3y
x=8+3×(2)
x=86
x=2
Therefore, x=2 and y=2
