Solve the following simultaneous equations:
x3+y4=4;5x6y8=4

The correct option is B x=6,y=8
x3+y4=44x+3y=48 ....(i)

5x6y8=420x3y=96 ....(ii)
Since, coefficients of y are equal in both equations but with opposite sign.
So on adding (i) and (ii). we get,
4x+3y+20x3y=48+96
24x=144
x=6
On substituting x=6 in (i). we get,
4(6)+3y=483y=24y=8
x=6,y=8
