Solve the following system by elimination method:
5x4y=14,3x+2y=4

Given equations are
5x4y=14 ....(1)
and 3x+2y=4 ....(2)
Multiply equation (2) by 2, we get
6x+4y=8 ....(3)
Add equations (1) and (3) to eliminate y,
11x=22
x=2
Substitute this value of x in equation (1),
5(2)4y=14
104y=14
4y=4
y=1
Therefore, the solution is x=2,y=1.
