Question 94
Solve the following:
The sum of four consecutive integers is 266. What are the integers?
Let the four consecutive integers be x, x+1, x+2 and x+3.
According the question,
x+x+1+x+2+x+3=266
⇒4x+6=266⇒4x=266−6⇒4x=260⇒x=2604∴x=65
Hence, the four consecutive integers are 65, 65+1, 65+2 and 65+3, i.e 65, 66, 67 and 68.
