Given $2x^2+3x+1=0$
On comparing this equation with $a{x}^2+bx+c=0$, where $a=2,b=3,c=1$
$\therefore$ $b^2-4ac={\left(5\right)}^2-4\times 2\times 1$
$=9-8$
$=1$
$x=\frac{-b\pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}$
$=\frac{-3\pm \sqrt{1}}{2\times 2}$
$x=\frac{-3+1}{4}$ or $x=\frac{-3-1}{4}$
$x=\frac{-2}{4}$ or $x=\frac{-4}{4}$
$x=\frac{-1}{2}$ or $x=-1$
