Solution

Determining the value of x by using the quadratic formula

The standard form of the quadratic equation is ax2+bx+c=0.

x2+1=13x6x2-13x6+1=0

The quadratic formula is x=-b±b2-4ac2a.

For the given equation x2-13x6+1=0, the value of variables are a=1,b=-136 and c=1.

Substituting the values of a,b and c in quadratic formula,

x=-(-136)±(-136)2-4(1)(1)2(1)x=136±16936-42x=136±25362x=136±562x=13±512x=13-512,13+512

x=812,1812x=23,32

Therefore, the value of x is 23 or 32.
